Hello
you lovelies. I realize I've been quiet. They had to lock me
up in the studio in order to force me to get things done. They
tell me it's the only way they can deal with my terrible case
of procrastination. They do let me out for meals occasionally,
and I am thankful for that and the little bit of sunlight I
get during this time. You see, there are no windows in the studio.
You think I would have thought about that when we were building
the place.
Well,
it's working in my favour now, I guess. You see... I've decided
to push through this EP thing and actually put out a full length
release. A concept album, no less. And all the songs are about
night. And the stories that go on in that one night. There are
even going to be a couple of covers tunes on it.
A
message to those of you who have recently bought my really old
first CD... thank you so much. I hope you are not too offened
or embarrased by my teenaged-angst album. Listen with kind and
forgiving ears. I have some more adult-oriented angst coming
soon. (Ohh... that sounded a bit cheeky!)
Must
get back to work... stay tuned...

Hi
everyone. I've been out of touch for a bit. Tony and I lost his
mom a month back and it was just too hard to communicate online
through all of that. We're both doing well in spite of it all
and we're back in the studio working on the EP. I swear I'm going
to get this thing done soon... I promise! I promise!
I've
got some shows coming up, both solo and with Tony. Read all
about it in the Gigs section if I haven't
already harrassed you with the newletter. Now, if you feel left
out because I haven't harrassed you, please do email
me and let me know you'd like to be on my list.
We're
planning lots of great shows through the summer. I'll let you
know as plans solidify.
with
much love...
Happy
Friday the 13th! Well... I've launched the new site in fits and
starts. We're out of frames here at kristia.com and have added
such handy features such as the new guestbook.
There
are new photos on the way in coming weeks as well as a preview
of new tunes. Feel free to email
me about anything else you'd like to see around here. I
always appreciate hearing from you.
I'll
be doing a little playing around the Vancouver area over the next
week at one of my favourite, favourite little places - the Montmartre
Cafe. If you haven't been there yet, you must! The crepes are
the best in the city and they don't charge a cover. The place
is dimly lit and a perfect place to spend your Valentine's Eve...
I'll be there, singing away. Please take a look at the 'Gigs'
section for more info.
I
promise to write soon with some personal, less professional
musings. I know all the business-y stuff gets a little boring
and tedious after a bit.
Be
well!
Kristia

Hi
Everyone. You might notice a couple of changes around here. First
of all, mp3s are back up on the site! Please head to the 'music'
section and enjoy.
Also,
please note my back catalogue is now available in the 'store'
section of this site.
I'll
write again soon with new gig listings, until then... be well!
Kristia
Another
update.. so soon?! Yes, I'm making an effort to change my ways,
kind visitors. Just a quick note to let you know that Any Given
Night is now up on the CBC's New Music Canada site. Take
a listen here!
Kristia

Hi
Everyone...
It's
been quite a long time since I've updated this. Terribly sorry
about that. How do the months go by? There have been many changes,
both personal and professional in the past year and I sit here
now with such a great sense of renewed hope. No, I have not
been drinking. Well, just a little bit.
Anyway,
I'm just here to say you can look forward to new songs and gigs
and all that good stuff as we draw nearer to spring. This site
is due for an overhaul too and I'm working away on it quietly
in the background. All will be revealed soon enough. A note on
MP3s, though... unfortunately my music host mp3.com went out of
business recently. I'll be making my songs available here at kristia.com
in February.
In
the meantime I'll be popping up at open mic nights around the
Vancouver area to test out new material. I'll post a schedule
in the 'gigs' section. I'm also looking for new bandmates so
if you want to be my drummer, please don't hesitate to contact
me.
I'll
be heading to the prestigious Banff
Centre this April for a two week songwriting residency. I'm
very, very thrilled at this wonderful opportunity. I get my own
studio-cabin and everything! Pictures and my Banff diary will
be forthcoming.
I've
resurrected my webcam
which is in use on an occasional basis, so feel free to come by
and watch me do something dry and administrative. No doubt I'll
be filling out festival applications... tis the season, you know.
Happy
2004. I look forward to hearing from you and having you hear
me, soon!
